Not about presents. We plan to focus on family time and creating priceless memories. I'm beginning to tell my just turned two year old the true meaning of Christmas by fun crafts and activities. Dave Ramsey likes to say "It's time to change your family tree!" And that's what I'm hoping to do. My kids are too young to know what they're "missing" - an absurd amount of presents under the tree. Our house is already overflowing with toys! We don't need; but there are plenty of people who DO need...basic necessities that we take for granted. I want to teach Callie and Sadie how fun it is to give generously. Callie is 3 1/2 and she has decided to use some of her allowance ("commission" for cleaning her playroom) to buy a gift for a 3 year old girl from a family we adopted for Christmas. You hit the nail on the head! We are giving a lot this year too :) We have also decided that since this is Isabella's (pretty much) first Christmas...she is only going to receive 4 gifts every year. That is PLENTY and I don't want her to expect a lot of presents since that is not the meaning at all of Christmas! I hope you have a amazing and joyful holiday :) I love this post!
